Set Your Goals and Track Them

The key to successful web marketing is to set your goals and then track them as you change the marketing influences.

Example:

Increase web visits by 10% over a 6 month period.

Marketing efforts:

  1. Add web address (URL) to all printed materials
  2. Run ad in newspaper with URL every week
  3. Include URL at bottom of every employee's email (in signature line)
  4. Contact 10 related business partners and ask them to include the URL on their pages
  5. Start a blog focusing on customer stories and how-to's for related products

For each marketing effort you could set up a separate landing page. For certain set one up for the newspaper advertising.

Use Google Analytics to track the results over the six months.

Like all marketing efforts, results will build when done in conjunction with different activities (mailings, news ads, web advertising, etc) and with repetition. Keep your message focused and repeat often.
